Fees & Referrals
Questions before you get started
Find practical information about appointments, referrals, fees and support. If your circumstances are not covered here, contact our team so we can explain the options that apply to you.
Getting Started
Do I need a referral?
You can enquire or seek private support without a GP referral. Medicare-funded psychology needs the appropriate valid plan and referral, and NDIS services depend on relevant funding and service arrangements. Use Make a Referral when documents need review.
Which services does RM Therapy offer?
Our services include Psychology, Assessments, Counselling, Couples Counselling, Family Violence Counselling, Speech Pathology and Behaviour Support. The suitable service, clinician and appointment depend on your needs and current availability. Explore the individual service pages or ask our team to help you choose.
Do you support children, young people and adults?
RM Therapy supports different age groups across its services. The age range and clinical scope depend on the service and clinician. Tell us the person’s age and goals so we can check suitability before confirming an appointment.
What happens after I send a referral?
Our services include Psychology, Assessments, Counselling, Couples Counselling, Family Violence Counselling, Speech Pathology and Behaviour Support. The suitable service, clinician and appointment depend on your needs and current availability. Explore the individual service pages or ask our team to help you choose.
Appointments
Can I book online?
Approved private appointment types can be booked through Book Online when times are available. Other pathways begin with an appointment request or secure referral so we can check suitability, consent or funding. A request acknowledgement is not a confirmed booking.
What happens after I send a referral?
Our team reviews it during business hours and contacts the nominated person about next steps. We may need further information before confirming suitability, availability or funding. The referral acknowledgement does not guarantee an appointment or funded service.
Where are appointments held?
Our clinic is at Suite 102, 9 Ormond Boulevard, Bundoora VIC 3083. Telehealth and other settings may be available for suitable services. Confirm the actual location and format for your appointment before attending.
Can I attend by telehealth?
Some services can be provided by telehealth when appropriate. The clinician considers the type of support, privacy, access needs and relevant funding requirements. Ask about availability when booking or referring.
How do I change or cancel an appointment?
Use the cancellation or rescheduling option in your confirmed appointment message when available, or contact our team promptly. Your booking terms explain the notice required and any applicable fee. Please read them before accepting an appointment.
Fees & Funding
Who can request bulk billed psychology?
RM Therapy offers bulk-billing review for psychology clients with an eligible Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card and a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral. We confirm Medicare eligibility, the participating clinician and availability first. An approved bulk-billed eligible service has no out-of-pocket service fee.
Can I use Medicare for general counselling or couples counselling?
RM Therapy’s general counselling and couples counselling are separate private services. A Mental Health Treatment Plan does not automatically cover them. Medicare support depends on the eligible clinician, service and referral. Ask about the Psychology pathway if you need eligible mental health treatment.
Do you accept NDIS referrals?
We review enquiries from self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed participants for eligible supports. Service suitability, relevant funding, plan arrangements and any additional charges must be checked and agreed before support begins. Send relevant plan details through the secure NDIS referral form.
Are victims of crime FAS WorkCover WorkSafe TAC DVA and EAP services available?
These additional referral pathways are being developed. Enquire before booking so we can confirm whether the relevant service and clinician arrangements are currently available. Do not assume a claim, card or employer benefit guarantees funding or direct billing.
How much will my appointment cost?
Visit Fees and Funding for published fees and pathways. We confirm the applicable service fee, appointment duration, funding and expected out-of-pocket amount before you begin. Couples counselling is $214.50 including GST for a 60-minute session.
Privacy & Support
Can a parent carer or support person be involved?
Involvement depends on the person’s preferences, age, capacity, clinical needs and appropriate consent or authority. Referring someone does not automatically provide access to their records. Our team can explain what needs to be agreed before information is shared.
How do you handle privacy?
We explain confidentiality and its limits at the start of a service. Use secure intake forms for clinical and funding documents; keep general website enquiries brief. Our Privacy Policy explains information handling and how to ask about access, correction or concerns.
Are parenting courses available now?
Our Parenting Education and Training Courses pages describe resources and planned learning options. Courses are being developed. Register interest if you would like updates; this does not enrol you, take payment or confirm a start date.
How can I provide feedback or make a complaint?
Use the separate Feedback or Complaints page, or call us for help. Anonymous submissions are available, although they may limit follow-up and investigation. You can ask an advocate or support person to assist.
What if I need urgent help?
RM Therapy is not an emergency service and website forms are not monitored continuously. In immediate danger, call 000. For confidential domestic, family or sexual violence support, contact 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732.
